Capacity Building Courses

With an attendance of more than 50 participants, a Basic Rules of Origin course was given for Certifying Entities, Authorized Exporters and directors of the Origin Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru. The course consisted of 12 sessions of 3 hours each, delivered virtually. The contents developed included, among others, the fundamental concepts of origin, accumulation, classification criteria and procedures related to the rules of origin. This course will be continued by a second activity in which other more advanced concepts of origin regimes will be addressed in depth. Among them, the issue of regional value content, its adjustments, calculation formulas, the treatment of textile products, declaration and methods of certification of origin will be deepened. All these issues were presented based on the contents negotiated by Peru in its agreements with: Pacific Alliance, CPTPP, the European Union, the United States, Canada, MERCOSUR, Mexico, Singapore, China and Korea. During the basic course, some of the computer applications developed by Origen.Digital were presented.

Presentation in the WCO Workshop

Rafael Cornejo participated as a speaker in the Rules of Origin Workshop convened by the World Customs Organization from February 8 to 10, 2023, held after the 41st Meeting of its Technical Committee on Rules of Origin.
